Pokémon GO’s next Max Monday will feature Dynamax Beldum on August 10, 2026. Beldum will appear at Power Spots throughout the day, giving Trainers another chance to catch the Steel- and Psychic-type Pokémon in Dynamax form.
The event is the second Max Monday featuring a Pokémon in August and brings back Dynamax Beldum for another run. The battle is a Tier 3 Dynamax Battle that costs 400 Max Particles to enter. Beldum can also be defeated solo, although a coordinated group makes it easier to cover attacking, defending, and healing roles.
Dynamax Beldum weaknesses and event details
- Date: August 10, 2026
- Availability: Beldum will appear at Power Spots all day
- Battle tier: Tier 3
- Battle cost: 400 Max Particles
- Weaknesses: Ground, Ghost, Dark, and Fire-type attacks
- Solo clear: Possible
Beldum’s Steel/Psychic typing gives Trainers several ways to attack it. Ghost, Dark, and Fire Pokémon offer the strongest offensive paths, while Ground attacks are also super effective. Its moveset is fairly short, with Take Down as its Fast Move and Iron Head as its Charged Move.
The August 1 Dynamax Magmar event was also soloable, so Trainers without a full group have a path forward here as well.
Recommended team for Dynamax Beldum
A balanced three-Pokémon lineup can cover the main jobs in a Max Battle:
- Crowned Shield Zamazenta: Use Metal Claw and treat it as the team’s defender.
- Dynamax Blissey: Use Pound and build it for healing.
- Gigantamax Gengar: Use G-Max Terror as the main attacker.
Crowned Shield Zamazenta is the recommended defender because it resists Beldum’s attacks and charges the Max Meter quickly. Dynamax Blissey can support the group with Max Spirit, while Gigantamax Gengar is the strongest attacking choice for this matchup.
Best attackers for Dynamax Beldum
Ghost, Dark, and Fire attackers are the main damage dealers to bring into the battle. The recommended options are:
- Gigantamax Gengar with G-Max Terror
- Gigantamax Cinderace with G-Max Fireball
- Gigantamax Grimmsnarl with G-Max Snooze
- Gigantamax Charizard with G-Max Wildfire
- Dynamax Darmanitan with Max Flare
- Dynamax Gengar with Max Phantasm
Gigantamax Gengar sits at the top of the attacking group. Gigantamax Cinderace and Gigantamax Charizard provide strong Fire damage, while Gigantamax Grimmsnarl and both Gengar forms take advantage of Beldum’s Ghost and Dark weaknesses.
Best defenders and healers
Defenders
- Crowned Shield Zamazenta with Metal Claw
- Dynamax Registeel with Lock-On or Metal Claw
- Dynamax Suicune with Water Gun
- Dynamax Metagross with Fury Cutter or Shadow Claw*
- Dynamax Blastoise with Bite or Water Gun
- Dynamax Corviknight with Sand Attack
Crowned Shield Zamazenta is the preferred defender because it can withstand Beldum’s attacks while building energy for the next Max phase. Dynamax Metagross can use Shadow Claw only when an Elite TM has been used to teach it that move.
Healers
- Dynamax Blissey
- Dynamax Wailord
- Dynamax Snorlax
- Gigantamax Lapras
- Dynamax Vaporeon
- Eternatus
High-Stamina Pokémon make the best healers because Max Spirit restores health based partly on the user’s maximum HP. Dynamax Blissey is the recommended first choice, but Wailord, Snorlax, Lapras, Vaporeon, and Eternatus can also fill the role.
How to organize a Max Battle team
Max Battles allow up to four Trainers in one group. A well-rounded party can use two attacking teams, one defender, and one healer. That setup gives the group enough damage while keeping a dedicated Pokémon available to draw attacks and restore team health.
Each Trainer brings three Pokémon. The first should be a Charger with a 0.5-second Fast Move, followed by two strong attackers. The Charger helps fill the Max Meter quickly, then the attacker can take over during the Dynamax phase.
Fast Move typing controls the typing of the Max Move, so move selection is important even when the Pokémon’s Charged Move is not. For Beldum, the attackers should use Fast Moves that create super-effective Ghost, Dark, Fire, or Ground Max Moves.
Max Battle mechanics to remember
The Max Meter fills through Fast and Charged Attacks, along with the energy icons that appear during battle. Once the meter is full, the active Pokémon automatically Dynamaxes or Gigantamaxes for three turns.
- A three-second countdown gives the Trainer time to choose which Pokémon will enter the Max phase.
- The Pokémon can be switched immediately after the three-turn phase ends.
- The Max Meter can fill again, allowing another Dynamax or Gigantamax phase in the same battle.
- If every Pokémon faints during a Tier 3 or higher battle, the Trainer can cheer for teammates to help charge their meters faster.
Max Guard
Max Guard creates up to three shields for the Pokémon using it. At level 1, each shield absorbs 20 HP; level 2 absorbs 40 HP; and level 3 absorbs 60 HP. Three shields together provide 60, 120, or 180 HP of protection depending on the move’s level.
The shielded Pokémon draws the Max Battle boss’s focused attacks, taking pressure away from the rest of the group. Only one Trainer needs to use Max Guard, so the defender should coordinate with the team before spending the move.
Max Spirit
Max Spirit heals the Pokémon using it and other active Pokémon in the group. The amount restored depends on the move’s level and the user’s maximum HP, which is why high-Stamina Pokémon work well in the healer slot. A dedicated healer should have Max Spirit at level 2 or higher when possible.
With a Ghost, Dark, Fire, or Ground attacker ready and Zamazenta protecting the team, Dynamax Beldum should be manageable even without a full lobby. Share your thoughts on the August 10 Max Monday in the comments, and stay connected through X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, and Telegram.
