MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls gives each of its 20 base characters several costume colors, but only Colors 01-04 are available at the start. Colors 05-08 must be earned through different parts of the game, while Color 09 is reserved for the Ultimate Edition.
The numbered colors are not identical across the roster. For example, Color 05 can give Doctor Doom a blue costume while turning Peni Parker’s outfit pink. Here is what you need to do for every available color.
Color 06 unlocks for the whole roster after 10 Casual matches
Color 06 requires 10 matches in the Casual game mode. The requirement applies to the entire cast rather than one fighter, so completing those matches unlocks the color for all 20 characters at once.
Wins are not required. Simply finishing 10 Casual matches is enough, which also unlocks Ranked play. That makes Color 06 one of the quickest rewards to claim, even for players who are still learning the game.
Color 05 comes from the team Episodes
Color 05 is tied to the game’s story Episodes. There are five Episodes, with each one focused on a different team. Since four characters belong to each team, finishing a single Episode unlocks Color 05 for those four fighters.
Iron Man, for example, receives Color 05 after completing the Fighting Avengers Episode. Players who work through the story will earn several costume colors along the way instead of having to repeat the same objective for every character.
Color 08 requires character-specific challenges
To unlock Color 08, complete the associated Action Check and Combo Challenge for each character. Unlike Color 06, this reward is handled on a fighter-by-fighter basis.
Anyone collecting Color 08 for the full roster will need to clear both tasks for all 20 characters. Some of the combo trials can be demanding, but they also provide useful practice with each fighter’s tools. A few alternate skins are tied to this color slot as well. Players chasing 100% completion can use the Marvel Tōkon trophy guide for the wider trophy requirements.
Color 07 still has no confirmed unlock method
Color 07 remains the only mystery in the standard progression. No confirmed requirement was known when this guide was published. Arcadia Rumble and Survival are two possible leads, but early attempts have produced badges and gallery rewards rather than a verified costume-color unlock.
For now, there is no reliable way to target Color 07. Any method claiming to unlock it should be treated as unconfirmed until the requirement is established.
Color 09 is exclusive to the Ultimate Edition
Color 09 cannot be earned through gameplay. It is part of the Ultimate Edition’s cosmetic package, so players who want the complete set must own that edition. The game’s three-edition breakdown covers the other costumes and color options included with the higher-tier release.
That leaves the regular unlock path with Colors 05-08. Complete the Episodes for team-based rewards, play 10 Casual matches for the roster-wide Color 06, and finish every character’s Action Check and Combo Challenge for Color 08.
