Fields of Mistria’s 1.0 launch completes its story and adds marriage

Players can continue existing early access farms while 1.0 adds weddings, children, new quests, romance scenes, and retroactive Steam achievement support.

Fields of Mistria has reached version 1.0 on PC after two years in early access. The full release finishes the game’s main story and adds the long-awaited marriage content, giving players a fresh reason to return to their farms on August 5, 2026.

The update is also friendly to existing saves. New story quests and romance scenes follow the progress players have already made, while the game’s Steam achievements can be earned retroactively. Starting a new farm is an option, not a requirement.

The new relationship content goes beyond the wedding itself: Players can now marry a chosen character, hold a wedding, and have children, giving long-running romance arcs a family-focused conclusion.

Version 1.0 also completes several long-term goals. Players can finish the Town Repair questline, raise Town Renown to 100, and complete their museum collection. The full details are available in the game’s official 1.0 patch notes.

There are smaller quality-of-life additions too. Avatars can now be rotated in the customization menu, players can turn off breakup letters, and engagements no longer automatically move a character from Dating to Best Friends. Cloud shadows also pass across the ground around town, adding a subtle animated touch without changing gameplay.

Fields of Mistria stands out with its colorful, Game Boy Advance-inspired pixel art and a cast built around classic ’90s anime and magical-girl influences. The farming, fishing, crafting, and town-life systems are only part of the appeal. Its characters receive plenty of contextual dialogue, and the romance system includes 12 marriage candidates.

That focus on character relationships places Fields of Mistria in the same conversation as Stardew Valley, though its brighter presentation and anime-inspired cast give it a distinct identity. Players looking for a farm sim with more story and romance than routine crop management now have the complete version available.

Fields of Mistria is available through Steam for $12.59 (£10.61). The game does not have a console release yet.
