Borderlands: Dead ECHOs Episode 3 Sends Watts and Junie Into Damage Control
The latest chapter of Gearbox's limited scripted podcast pushes its unlikely ECHO-brokering duo into a publicity mess involving dangerous enemies and questionable dice.

Borderlands: Dead ECHOs Episode 3 puts Watts and Junie in a messy publicity crisis as their secret-selling operation attracts even more trouble. Gearbox announced the new chapter through a Steam update, which also confirms that the limited series continues with weekly episodes.
The pair responds to the growing attention with bigger stunts and an even louder public act. Their plan is meant to control the damage, but the situation quickly turns dangerous. The episode brings in dirty “die cheaters”—or possibly dice cheaters—while Watts and Junie try to keep their unusual business from collapsing around them.
A story of secrets, scams, and corporate danger
Borderlands: Dead ECHOs is Gearbox’s first scripted narrative podcast. Its story follows Watts, a frustrated DAHL ECHO Operator who earns extra money by searching through undelivered ECHO logs and selling the secrets hidden inside them.
His routine changes when Junie helps him escape a difficult situation. The two form an unlikely partnership, with Junie steering Watts toward a Robin Hood-inspired version of his criminal side business. Instead of quietly profiting from private information, they begin using it in ways that attract mercenaries, outlaws, and DAHL’s corporate hit squad.
That threat is led by Vivian Proctor, a power-hungry rogue executive who has plenty of reason to want the operation shut down. Episode 3 adds another layer of chaos as Watts and Junie try to turn unwanted attention into part of the performance.
