Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Direct will reveal 20 minutes of new details on August 4

Nintendo will dedicate its next Nintendo Direct to Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave on August 4, 2026. The presentation will run for 20 minutes and focus entirely on the upcoming strategy RPG.

The showcase will arrive ahead of the game’s scheduled launch on September 17, 2026. With four stories planned for the campaign, the presentation should provide a closer look at how the different parts of Fortune’s Weave fit together.

The presentation will begin on August 4 at 3:00 p.m. BST, 10:00 a.m. ET, and 7:00 a.m. PT. It will last 20 minutes.

Nintendo will stream the Direct through Nintendo’s YouTube channel.

What Nintendo could show

The story follows four characters who travel to the city of Dagsion to enter the Heroic Games. Each competitor has a personal reason for taking part, while the winner will earn the chance to have a single wish granted.

• Dietrich is a ruthless swordsman searching for a stronger opponent.
• Theodara is a queen pursuing a dream for her homeland.
• Leda is a talented musician seeking revenge.

Outside the competition, players will build and strengthen their armies, gather resources, train their units, and recruit allies in Dagsion. Expeditions can also lead to battles against bandits and monsters, dungeon runs, and other activities.

Combat uses a strategic, turn-based system. Units have distinct strengths and weaknesses, while special abilities can help players change the course of a battle. Nintendo’s presentation could provide more details about those systems and the wider world surrounding the Heroic Games.

One unanswered question concerns the game’s central characters. Nintendo has shown four protagonists traveling through the overworld, but it has not made clear whether they will serve as the game’s only main characters or whether Fortune’s Weave will also include a customizable avatar.

Two white-haired figures appear at the center of the game’s box art, leading to theories that they may represent male and female avatar designs. Their role has not been confirmed, so the August 4 presentation may finally explain how they connect to the four protagonists.

The Direct will also arrive on the same day as D-Hopper, a canceled Virtual Boy game from Intelligent Systems that is being released for Switch.
