Terraria 1.4.5.7 will bring a gas-spewing claymore and sharp-turning arrows

Terraria 1.4.5.7 is nearing completion, but Re-Logic has not announced a release date yet. The next patch still needs a localization pass and platform submissions before it can launch at the same time on PC, console, and mobile.
Ted “Loki” Murphy, Re-Logic’s Head of Business Strategy, said the team was hard at work on 1.4.5.7 while also preparing the groundwork for the next phase of development. That work will include crossplay, although Re-Logic is keeping the rest of its plans quiet for now.
The patch has been in development for months and will bring new tools for different playstyles, along with more weapons and items. It follows the already-released 1.4.5 Bigger & Boulder update, which added a broad collection of new content to the sandbox game.
A reworked Chlorophyte Claymore
One of the teased changes affects the Chlorophyte Claymore. The sword appears to be receiving a new attack pattern. Rather than sending out an orb with every swing, it will fill the nearby area with damaging gas that hurts enemies over time.
That should give the weapon a very different role in crowded rooms. Murphy described it as an option for clearing groups of enemies quickly, though the full balance details will have to wait until the patch arrives.
Arrows that change direction in mid-air
The other preview showed an arrow with a strange new trick. After flying a short distance, it produced a blue spark and turned toward the closest enemy, striking a passing bat with impressive accuracy.
The projectile looked like a basic wooden arrow, so the homing behavior may come from an accessory rather than the ammunition itself. Re-Logic has not confirmed how the effect will work, leaving the exact source of the ability open for now.
Murphy also said that more tuning may follow 1.4.5.7. Unless emergency fixes are needed, those changes are expected to become part of what the team calls the “crossplay phase one” update.
Re-Logic is already planning what comes next
There is still no confirmed launch date as of July 31, 2026. The team is already looking further ahead, though. Re-Logic and Terraria’s console and mobile team at DR Studios plan to meet in person in August to map out future updates.
That suggests 1.4.5.7 will not be the end of Terraria’s development. With crossplay preparations underway and more post-patch work planned, the game’s next chapter is still taking shape.
