Escape from Tarkov’s Kord Breach Update Is Targeting an August 3 Season Launch

Battlestate Games delayed the start of Season 1, which will introduce seasonal characters, modifiers, challenges, and new progression systems.

Escape from Tarkov Update 1.1.0.0 is nearing release, but Battlestate Games has not provided a firm patch date or maintenance schedule. The clearest timing comes from the launch of the game’s first season, which is now planned to begin on August 3, 2026.

The update was originally expected to arrive in late July. That plan changed after Battlestate Games studio head Nikita Buyanov said the first season had been delayed. His post gave August 3 as the planned start date, placing the 1.1.0.0 rollout ahead of that event or close to it rather than confirming that the patch itself will arrive on August 3.

That distinction matters because Escape from Tarkov updates often require extended maintenance windows. For now, players have a target for the seasonal launch, but not a confirmed installation time for the Kord Breach update.

Nikita Buyanov shared the revised Season 1 timing in a post on X.

What Update 1.1.0.0 Will Add

The main feature is the introduction of seasonal characters. These characters will exist separately from PvE and PvP characters, giving each season its own progression track and set of rules.

Each season will bring different themes and modifiers. Players will also be able to choose from positive and negative personal modifiers, creating another way to customize how a seasonal character develops. The system will include a battle pass, in-season challenges, and events.

Update 1.1.0.0 will also revise several core systems. Insurance is being changed, while side-task progression and trader leveling are receiving new rules. The task changes are part of a wider progression overhaul, with new ways for tasks to unlock tied to trader loyalty levels.

New weapons, attachments, equipment, and cosmetics are also planned for the update. Some items will be available to purchase, while others can be unlocked or earned through play.

Why the Release Timing Is Still Unclear

Battlestate Games has given players a date for the start of Season 1, but that does not amount to a locked release time for the full update. The studio still needs to complete the rollout and maintenance process before the new systems become available.

The developer is also using the update to address optimization and other problems affecting the game. That wider scope may require extra testing or additional maintenance time, so players should treat August 3 as the current seasonal target rather than a guaranteed patch-hour announcement.

Until Battlestate Games provides a final schedule, the safest expectation is that Kord Breach will arrive around the beginning of August, with Season 1 planned for August 3. Tell us what you think about the update, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, and Instagram.
