World of Warcraft’s July 28 Hotfixes Target World Boss Loot Problems
The Midnight 12.0.7 update also corrects a Blood Death Knight talent bug and a missing PvP trinket cooldown display.

Blizzard’s July 28 hotfix notes for World of Warcraft: Midnight 12.0.7 focus on several targeted fixes, with two changes aimed at World Boss rewards. The adjustments restore soulbound item drops for alternate characters and correct loot specialization matching.
The hotfix batch also includes a Blood Death Knight fix tied to the Dance of Midnight Apex talent and a PvP correction involving Will of the Forsaken. In that case, the game will properly show the cooldown on a player’s PvP trinket after the ability breaks Mind Control.
Blizzard published the complete notes on the official World of Warcraft forums.
World of Warcraft: Midnight 12.0.7 Patch Notes
The World Boss changes affect both the type of loot characters can receive and whether that loot matches the specialization selected by the player. The class fix addresses an Apex talent interaction for Blood Death Knights, while the PvP fix is limited to the cooldown display.
Classes
- Death Knight
- Blood
- Fixed a bug that caused the Dance of Midnight Apex talent ranks 2 and 3 to incorrectly increase damage taken. They now decrease damage taken, as intended.
- Blood
Player versus Player
- Fixed an issue where using Will of the Forsaken to break Mind Control would not show the cooldown on your PvP trinket.
World Bosses
- Fixed a bug that could prevent alt characters from receiving soulbound items when killing the World Boss.
- Fixed a bug where rewards could include a piece unmatched to the player’s chosen spec.
These fixes should make World Boss reward runs less frustrating for alternate characters and players relying on specialization-specific loot. Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
