Escape from Tarkov’s 1.1.0.0 Update Will Rework How Tasks Unlock
Battlestate Games plans to tie most side tasks to trader loyalty levels before the game's First Season begins.

Battlestate Games is preparing a major progression overhaul for Escape from Tarkov. Update 1.1.0.0 is scheduled to arrive within the week after July 27, 2026, ahead of the game’s First Season.
The biggest change concerns side tasks. In a post on the official Tarkov account on X, the developer explained that most tasks will no longer sit inside rigid chains where every objective depends on the one before it.
One of the changes coming in update 1.1.0.0 for #EscapefromTarkov is a rework of the side task system.

Trader Loyalty Levels Will Drive Progression
Instead, task access will be linked to trader loyalty levels. Reaching LL1 with a trader will open a starting group of tasks. After players complete several of them, reaching LL2 will unlock another set with tougher objectives.
The reward structure is changing as well. Task payouts will place more emphasis on cash instead of situational barter items and lower-tier equipment. That should give players more freedom to decide how to build their stash and prepare for raids.
Trader offers will also follow a simpler unlock system. Most offers will become available as soon as players reach the required loyalty level, without asking them to complete a specific quest first. The Tri-Zip backpack, for example, will be available at Ragman LL3, while the DevTac Ronin helmet will unlock at Mechanic LL2.
Some linear quest chains will remain. Battlestate Games is reserving those exceptions for rare trade offers and special crafting recipes. The important rewards for these chains will appear when the opening task is accepted, so players can see what the full commitment offers before spending time on it.
A More Flexible Route Through the First Season
The rebalance is aimed at reducing the number of progression walls tied to individual tasks. Players will have more than one route toward high-end gear, with trader reputation serving as the main gate for most of the system.
That change could matter most during the early part of the First Season, when players are rebuilding their inventories and working out which equipment is worth pursuing. Some Standard Account owners have already raised concerns about possible trader reputation bottlenecks, but the broader response described in the announcement has been positive.
The new task structure will arrive with update 1.1.0.0. Battlestate Games has not provided a more precise release time in the supplied announcement.
For more recent Tarkov context, Patch 1.0.6.0 focused on cleanup and support changes while the studio prepared its next plans.
Will this task redesign make the First Season easier to follow, or could trader reputation become the new wall? Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, and Instagram.
