Diablo 4’s Rogue Problem Is Finally Getting a Fix
Patch 3.1.2 is scheduled for July 28 and will also rename a confusing Horadric Cube recipe while fixing Mythic recycling.

Blizzard has announced Diablo 4 patch 3.1.2, which is scheduled to arrive on July 28, 2026. The update is smaller than the recent Season 14 hotfixes, but it addresses a Rogue bug that has heavily distorted the game’s highest-level leaderboards.
Rogues have remained near the top of Diablo 4’s competitive endgame for the past two seasons, with bugs playing a major role in their performance. In Season 14, the class has taken over both The Pit and The Tower, where Rogue clears have repeatedly filled the highest rankings.
Recent Pit 150 leaderboard results showed Rogues holding 14 of the top 15 clears. The Tower has followed a similar pattern, with one Rogue Tier 150 run after another appearing at the top.
Patch 3.1.2 targets the Rogue Dash bug
The main issue comes from the Rogue’s Dash ability when used with the Shadow Play variant. The combination has been dealing far more damage than intended, giving the build an advantage over classes playing without the bug.
The problem goes beyond leaderboard bragging rights. Players can hire Rogue characters to complete Tier 150 Pit runs and quickly max out their Glyphs. That gives the bugged build an outsized effect on progression and leaves players who avoid exploits at a disadvantage.
Once the fix arrives, the highest Pit and Tower rankings should provide a clearer picture of how the classes perform without the extra Dash damage.
Horadric Cube recipe name is changing
Patch 3.1.2 will also rename the Upgrade to Mythic Horadric Cube recipe. The current name has led some players to expect an existing item to become a stronger version of itself, but the recipe instead converts it into a different Mythic item.
To make that function clearer, Blizzard will change the recipe name from Upgrade to Craft. The recipe’s behavior is not described as changing, but the new name should better reflect what it does.
Mythic recycling fix
The update will fix “an issue where Mythic Unique items could not be recycled” through the Horadric Cube. The change may be especially useful for Mythic Seals, since other Mythic items already work with the Cube’s three-for-one recipe.
Blizzard’s complete Diablo IV patch 3.1.2 notes include the full list of changes scheduled for July 28.
