PUBG Will Give Some Stolen Accounts More Chances to Return

The revised policy will begin on July 22, 2026, at 02:00 UTC and depends on whether the account has a secondary password.

PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS is changing how it handles permanent bans tied to stolen accounts. The revised unban policy will take effect on July 22, 2026, at 02:00 UTC, according to the official PUBG notice.

The biggest change applies to accounts that had a secondary password before they were stolen. Once the new policy begins, those accounts can receive one unban every six months, with a maximum of two unbans per year.

How the revised policy works

  • Accounts with a secondary password: One unban per half-year, up to two unbans per year.
  • Accounts without a secondary password: One unban over the account’s lifetime, which matches the previous rule.

The change also covers accounts that were permanently banned while stolen. If one of those accounts had a secondary password, it can qualify for up to two unbans per year starting July 22 at 02:00 UTC.

There is also a one-time review option for an account that already used its single theft-related unban before the secondary-password feature was introduced. If PUBG confirms that the account was stolen, the ban will be lifted. If the review finds that it was not stolen, the case will not receive another review.

Players with account-theft questions should contact PUBG Support. The new rules give protected accounts more room for recovery, but accounts without a secondary password will still have only one unban opportunity.
