The Division 2’s Dust Storm Event Brings New York’s Worst Weather Yet
The event runs from July 21 through August 11 and includes free Warlords of New York access, new loot, creator projects, and a refreshed Paradise Lost Incursion.

Ubisoft’s TUY8S2.2 update announcement details a busy summer schedule for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. The Dust Storm Event will run from July 21 through August 11, bringing hostile weather, new enemies, event loot, creator missions, and temporary access to the Warlords of New York expansion.
Any player who logs in during the event will receive the Parched Mask. Event activities require a level 40 character who has completed the Warlords of New York campaign.

Dust Storms and Dust Devils
New York will cycle through two storm conditions. A Calm Dust Storm will begin when players load into the New York map and can last for up to 18 minutes. The timer restarts after each login.
A Raging Dust Storm will last for eight minutes, cutting visibility even further and adding heavy wind noise. During the storm, groups of four named Riker enemies called Dust Devils will hunt agents. Their damage and resistance modifiers make close-range combat the safest option. At 0 to 25 meters, they have no Status Resistance, while that resistance rises to 80% beyond 26 meters. Their outgoing damage also drops at longer ranges, while damage taken increases when agents get close.
Dust Devil kill squads arrive every six minutes. During a Raging Dust Storm, enemies keep appearing until the weather clears, with up to six active at once and as many as 48 enemies available during one storm. Agents must keep moving because new spawns will not trigger while they remain stationary.
After 50 named-enemy kills, agents can call for backup and face two bosses at the same time. Pall uses a Sniper Turret and Decoy while remaining hidden from Pulse scans. Black Lung fights as a heavily armored LMG user supported by an Artillery Turret. Both bosses can appear in any weather condition. Each drops a Storm Key and a mask the first time it is defeated.
Hidden caches and event rewards
Twenty hidden loot caches will appear across decorated areas of New York. Destroying one grants gear from the Event Vendor Gear Caches, and the Dust Devils restore the caches after each daily reset. Since the storm makes them hard to spot, agents can listen for their distinct audio cue. Opening one also triggers a Named Enemy ambush.
The Haven settlement will host the refreshed Event Vendor. Storm Keys come from Dust Devil kill squads, Dust Devil bosses, and the Scoured Hunter. The guaranteed kill requirements are 14 on Normal, 14 on Hard, 12 on Challenging, and 10 on Heroic. The first 150 kills each day receive a Daily Boost that cuts the key requirement in half.
Apparel Caches contain 43 non-duplicate vanity items, including the Wired, Vagabond, Parched, Breathless, Breathless (Grey), and Yield outfits. Completing the collection grants the Black Blizzard Scanner Pulse Skill VFX. Apparel Keys can also be purchased with Premium Credits.
Gear Caches include returning loot, event rewards, Named items, Exotics, and a chance at Prototype gear. The new Named D50, Rabid D50, carries the Foam at the Mouth talent. A headshot kill applies Ensnare to the next enemy hit, and weapon damage against Ensnared enemies increases by 25%.

The event also includes a cross-platform Community Challenge. The shared milestones are 1 million keys for the Pall Jacket, 5 million for Pall Boots, and 10 million for Pall Pants. Personal rewards begin at 10 keys and continue through 200 keys, with prizes including the St Elmo’s Engine Exotic Weapon, Lexington, a Prototype Event Weapon, arm patches, and weapon skins.
Classified Assignment and Realism Mode
McMillan Reservoir Assault launches on July 21. The Classified Assignment follows a distress signal and a conflict between the True Sons and Hyenas. It is included with the Into The Dark Bundle and Into The Dark Supply Drop, or can be bought separately for 500 Premium Credits.

Classic Classified Assignments will also rotate through free access:
- July 21-28: National Bond Armory
- July 28-August 4: Embassy Crash Site
- August 4-11: Marina Supply Route
- August 11-18: Nightclub Infiltration
- August 18-25: NSA Security Alert
- August 25-September 1: Nelson Theatre Hostage
Realism Mode will return for the event. It provides a separate journey through the Warlords of New York campaign with reduced interface elements, faster and more lethal combat, longer skill cooldowns, and gear bonuses tied to weight and mobility. Ammo comes from defeated enemies.
Completing Liberty Island in Realism Mode awards the Salt Flat MK46 LMG Skin. Completing it with a Hardcore Character also grants the Kill Count MK46 skin. The Arid Forest Camo for the KSG Shotgun and Concrete Camo for the Police M4 return as Hardcore rewards. Previous Realism Mode characters have been removed, so every player will begin again.
Creator projects and the Prima Donna Exotic
From July 21 through August 11, creator collaboration projects from NGN, Charles, and FilipeRaaamos will send agents through Named Zones in New York. Each creator has a six-project chain. New steps unlock daily, and an unlocked project remains available until the event ends.

Project rewards include Named Item Caches, Exotic Components, Recalibration Caches, and Optimization Caches. Completing all six projects in a chain grants a creator-themed backpack. Creator-themed apparel can also appear in containers, while the creators will distribute codes for exclusive arm patches through their own channels.
The Paradise Lost Incursion will receive its refresh on July 21. Ambush and Assault Global Events can now run inside the Incursion, giving players extra modifiers while they pursue the new Prima Donna Exotic Marksman Rifle.

Prima Donna grants 10 stacks outside combat, or five in PvP. Each stack provides 12.5% amplified damage, reduced to 12% in PvP. One stack is consumed to fully repair one instance of incoming damage, and a stack returns every three seconds, or every eight seconds in PvP. The rifle has 417.7K damage at level 40, a rate of fire of 55, and a seven-round magazine.
Prima Donna will share drop sources with Ouroboros. Both Exotics have a higher chance to appear in the Incursion’s final chest and a lower chance from the Wright, Martinez, and Johnson Named Boss encounters.
