The Planet Crafter will arrive on Xbox on July 21, giving players a quieter take on survival with terraforming, base building, and online co-op instead of enemies or combat. The game will be available through Game Pass on Xbox Series X|S and Windows Store.
Developer Miju Games designed the experience around managing oxygen, food, water, temperature, and health. Those systems can still create danger, especially early in a playthrough, but there are no monsters or hostile creatures waiting around the next corner. The environment itself is the main threat.
Terraforming is the heart of the game. Players will collect resources, craft equipment, build machines, and improve atmospheric pressure, temperature, and oxygen levels. As the planet changes, frozen areas can open into new valleys, while growing vegetation can create routes to places that were previously out of reach.
The machines keep working as long as the power grid supports them, so progress can continue while players search shipwrecks, investigate ruins, collect rare minerals, and look for clues about a previous expedition. The world also develops new life as terraforming advances, eventually moving from moss and insects toward forests and animals.
Co-op and Xbox Play Anywhere support
The Planet Crafter will support single-player sessions and online co-op for one to eight players. Friends can work together on bases, resource gathering, and the long process of turning a barren planet into a livable world.
The Xbox release will also support Xbox Play Anywhere. That means progress, achievements, and adventures can carry between Xbox Series X|S and Windows Store versions. Players will also be able to adjust the difficulty, use different starting presets, and choose Creative mode for a less restrictive building experience.
The July 21 launch was detailed in the Xbox Wire announcement. The game is already available on PC, while the Xbox release will give console players a new way to build, tinker, and watch an empty world come alive.
