A VR exclusive? Prequel to Half-Life 2? It all starts to sound very interesting. Valve has finally announced its upcoming Half-Life game as promised. From what it seems, Half-Life: Alyx is a content-rich title destined for Virtual Reality. The game is set between events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2, which is a resounding prequel to Half-Life 2 in general.
The story is expected to uncover the forming of resistance by Alyx Vance and her father before they tackle down the alien force. Half-Life: Alyx is set to launch on March 2020 on Steam. Powered by Valve’s SteamVR software, the game will be available with all PC VR headset brands such as HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Windows Mixed Reality, and of course, Valve Index.
The game will be priced at $59.99 and will come for free for all of the owners of the Valve Index VR headset. Valve tags the game as “designed from the ground up.” Exploration in Half-Life: Alyx will be no different but enriched with countless attractions scattered across the open-world. World exploration, Puzzles, Combat, and more are set to be the impressive part, similar to the mechanics of its predecessors.
