Battlefield 6 is taking its next major step into naval combat, with Season 4 scheduled to arrive on July 21, 2026. Electronic Arts’ new gameplay trailer also confirmed that Wake Island will return later in the season.
The upcoming season centers on Tsuru Reef, a large battlefield built around islands, open water, and changing waves. EA describes it as the largest battlefield created for Battlefield 6, with battles expected to move between land, sea, and air as infantry, helicopters, and boats collide across the map.
Battlefield 6 Season 4 adds naval warfare
Players will have two new watercraft to use when Season 4 begins. The RCB-90 Patrol Boat is designed for heavier firepower, while the faster 7.7m NSW RHIB gives squads a quicker way to cross the water and strike from a different angle.
The season also adds four weapons, including the long-range Interdictor sniper rifle. Battlefield 6’s Battle Royale mode will receive a new Ranked season as well, with exclusive rewards tied to competitive play.
As previously outlined in the Season 4 launch plans, naval combat is the update’s main focus. Wake Island will not arrive with the initial July 21 launch, but it is planned for a later point in the season.
Wake Island is coming back
First introduced in Battlefield 1942, Wake Island is one of the series’ most recognizable locations. Its horseshoe-shaped layout has long been praised by Battlefield players, especially for the way it supports air assaults, vehicle pushes, and fights around the carrier bases.
Battlefield 6’s version will bring the classic map into the current game with updated visuals and the new naval systems. That means the return should fit naturally with Season 4’s focus on sea-to-land battles rather than serving as a simple visual remake.
Season 4 launches on July 21, while Wake Island is scheduled to follow later in the season. Share your thoughts on the returning map in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, and Instagram.
