Apex Legends is heading into a neon-soaked Night City E-District for its Cyberpunk Event, bringing new Wildcard mechanics, themed gear, and a dangerous new way to lose control of your Legend. Respawn detailed the event in its official Steam announcement.
E-District has received a cyberpunk makeover, with neon skyboxes, holographic koi floating overhead, and glitched signage spread across the map. The Wildcard mode also introduces two Cyberware mods that change how players move and fight.
New Cyberware Mods Hit Wildcard
Sandevistan gives Legends quick dashes in any direction. Players can chain two dashes before touching the ground, which opens up new ways to close distance or escape a bad fight.
Blackwall Breach lets a Legend phase into the Net to reposition before returning with a disruptive EMP. It is a handy option for breaking up enemy setups or creating room during a chaotic encounter.
Cyberpsychosis Can Turn the Tables
Using Cyberware fills a new Cyberware Capacity meter. Push it too far and your Legend enters Cyberpsychosis, gaining high movement speed and heavy melee damage while losing access to weapons, abilities, shields, and ordnance.
Players can bring the meter back under control with Immunoblocker Syringes found around the map. Immunoblocker Caches fully reset the meter, giving squads another way to avoid staying in Cyberpsycho mode for too long.
Skippy Gets a Mythic Upgrade
The event also adds the Mythic Skippy Alternator. After activating either “Puppy Loving Pacifist” or “Stone Cold Killer,” Skippy comments on the player’s behavior during the match.
Exotic Shards can improve Skippy with new visuals, ordnance skins, and knock effects. The weapon is not just another item in the loot pool, either. It comes with its own personality and plenty of judgment.
Cyberpunk Cosmetics and Event Rewards
Players can earn Eddies throughout the event and spend them in the Reward Shop. The selection includes an Arasaka Epic Valkyrie Skin, a Kang-Tao Epic Mirage Skin, and more rewards.
The cosmetic lineup also features eight Legend Skins for Axle, Sparrow, Lifeline, Crypto, Rampart, Loba, Ash, and Gibraltar. Eight Weapon Skins round out the collection for the Wingman, Charge Rifle, Mastiff, L-STAR, P2020, RE-45, R-301, and Kraber.
The Cyberpunk Event brings a flashy new look to E-District, but its biggest changes are mechanical. Sandevistan and Blackwall Breach can reshape fights, while Cyberpsychosis rewards players who know when to stop pushing their Cyberware Capacity.
