Team Fortress 2 Tidies Up Cosmetics and Two Maps in New Update
The patch fixes cosmetic effects, adds tournament medals, and adjusts lighting and gameplay flow on koth_dusker and cp_premuda.

Team Fortress 2 received a new update on July 14, 2026. The patch fixes several cosmetic items and unusual effects, updates tournament medals, and makes map changes to koth_dusker and cp_premuda.
Valve’s official Team Fortress 2 update notice says the update will install automatically the next time players restart the game. The map work includes broad lighting improvements on koth_dusker, while cp_premuda received fixes for crashes, spawn rooms, sound, respawn timing, dark areas, clipping, and general match flow.
Patch Notes — Team Fortress 2 Update Released
This update focuses on cosmetic presentation and map cleanup. Players will also see a renamed Summer 2026 unusual effect, restored taunt audio, and adjustments that make parts of cp_premuda easier to play through.

- Updated the Floral Growth Unusual effect to fix orientation/position problems
- Updated the Bald Spotter
- Adjusted vertex normals and diffuse on head
- Adjusted normals and specular on head mirror
- Reduced mesh size slightly toward the front and back of the head
- Fixed some facial flexes
- Reduced texture size of lens
- Updated the Surgical Shroud
- Fixed vertex normal issue on coat
- Adjusted Phongfresnelranges on mirror to improve envmap effect
- Reduced texture size of mirror
- Updated/Added some tournament medals
- Updated koth_dusker to globally improve lighting in outdoor areas for better team recognition
- Updated cp_premuda
- Fixed conflicting files leading to crashes
- Fixed several spawn room errors
- Adjusted respawn-times to make capping easier
- Adjusted sound timings and volume
- Brightened up dark spaces and tunnels
- Smaller changes all around the map to improve game flow
- Miscellaneous visual and clipping bugs fixed
