Black Ops 7 Season 05 Brings a Japanese Festival, Zombies Survival, and Drone Labs

The season launches July 23 at 9:00 a.m. PT with new multiplayer maps, Endgame content, Zombies activities, Warzone features, weapons, events, and ranked rewards.

Activision announced Season 05 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone on July 13. The seasonal content will launch on July 23 at 9:00 a.m. PT across all platforms, bringing new maps, modes, weapons, ranked seasons, events, and Battle Pass rewards. The full Season 05 announcement also outlines a mid-season Zombies chapter and additional Warzone features.

The main launch attractions include the Jubilee multiplayer map, the Eidskallen Lighthouse Zombies Survival map, the Burn Run Endgame Assignment, and the Drone Labs point of interest on Verdansk. Season 05 will also introduce a new Battle Pass, BlackCell content, and four weapons released across launch and the rest of the season.

Endgame Adds Burn Run and Ability Boosts

Endgame players will receive a new Burn Run Assignment at launch. Operators will drive a bomb-rigged vehicle through a course containing 30 flaming arches, with the clock extended by running over enemies and objects. Repair wrenches and speed boosts can help keep the vehicle moving, while missing the route or losing too much time can end the run quickly.

Season 05 will also add Exotic Ability Boosts. These items can improve Major and Minor Abilities by reducing cooldowns, adding ammunition, or introducing extra damage types. They can appear in Zone IV, but Nightmare locations offer the best chance of finding them. Each Major and Minor Ability has two possible Exotic boosts, and an acquired boost remains active until the player wipes or changes the affected Ability.

Endgame will remain free to play through the end of Season 05. Once Season 06 begins, the mode will no longer be available through the Warzone menu and will require ownership of Black Ops 7.

Three Launch Maps Lead the Multiplayer Content

Jubilee is a brand-new medium-sized 6v6 map set in a rural Japanese town during a festival. Its areas include a Palace museum courtyard, a food-filled Festival section, a pachinko room, an elevated Garden route, and a central Main Street. Players looking for longer sightlines can use the middle of the map, while the side routes offer tighter fights and flank opportunities.

Frequency returns as a remastered medium-sized 6v6 map from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The battle takes place at a mountain listening station in Hunan, with the Catwalk, Pipes, Surveillance room, Servers, and Maintenance area creating several routes through the facility.

Dig is another remastered map, this time returning from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The small-sized 6v6 map is built around an archaeological site in Avalon, with narrow routes, scaffolding, exposed ruins, underground paths, and several longer sightlines.

Mid-season multiplayer content will add Turbo Tilt, a small 6v6/2v2 map set inside a Nuketown-themed pinball machine, along with Freerun: Descent, a movement-focused course built around jumping, diving, sliding, and wall-running.

New Multiplayer Modes and Ranked Rewards

Overdrive Domination will combine objective play with the star-based bonuses from Overdrive. Players earn one star for a basic elimination, two for a Core Medal elimination, and three for a Distinguished Medal elimination. Reaching one, three, and six stars grants bonuses to perception, movement speed, and weapon handling. Reaching six stars in one combo activates Overdrive, which doubles earned stars while active.

Gauntlet Rush will rotate teams through Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Domination, Hardpoint, and Roulette. Each mode lasts two minutes before the match moves to the next one. Staying active can unlock movement, weapon-swap, and headshot-damage bonuses, while Gain Stacks placed around the map can help players reach Scorestreaks sooner.

Cranked Moshpit will arrive during the mid-season. Eliminations activate a timer and grant buffs such as faster movement and reload speed. If the timer reaches zero, the Operator explodes.

Season 05 Multiplayer Ranked Play will bring new rewards for wins and rank milestones. Players can earn the Pro Re-Issue MPC 25 SMG Blueprint after 10 wins, a large decal after 100 wins, and rank-specific Calling Cards and Weapon Camos from Silver through Top 250. The overall Top 250 player will receive a Champion Animated Calling Card.

Zombies Heads to Eidskallen and Astra Malorum

The Eidskallen Lighthouse Survival map will launch in the frozen Totenreich area. Players will defend Beacon Island and its lighthouse while using Pack-a-Punch, Der Wunderfizz, the Mystery Box, Wall Buys, Armor Upgrades, and the Flammenfalle Trap. Round milestones award the “Valhallan” Animated Emblem at Round 10, the “Eidskallen’s Light” Weapon Charm at Round 25, and the “Gift Card” GobbleGum at Round 50, along with XP rewards.

Kowakujō will receive Directed Mode with on-screen Main Quest guidance and a maximum round cap of 15. Completing it awards the “Yōjinbō” Operator Skin for Carver, a completion Calling Card, and 5,000 XP. Starting Room: Kowakujō will also lock players into the Outer Ward, where they must survive with a limited collection of map items.

Rogue Run is expanding to Astra Malorum through Casual, Normal, and Hardcore playlists. The roguelite Zombies mode will send players through locations including Crash Site, Museum Infinitum, and Mars while they collect randomized upgrades. A new Curse Inducer tablet can activate a random Cursed Relic for players looking for a tougher run.

The mid-season will bring Rex Infernus, a new Round-Based Zombies map that serves as the final chapter of the Black Ops 7 Zombies story. It will add a new Wonder Weapon, GobbleGum, Perk-a-Cola, and two Ultra-Rarity legacy weapons. Widow’s Wine, Fully Packed, the Olympia Shotgun, and the TR2 Marksman Rifle are also planned for the mid-season content drop.

Warzone Adds Drone Labs to Verdansk

Drone Labs will arrive on Verdansk south of Quarry and east of the TV Station. The new POI contains two large L-shaped buildings connected by a Zipline and skybridge. The Administrative Offices and Research and Development buildings offer several levels, rooftop loot, and routes for both close and distant fights. A drone obstacle course sits north of the facility, while a locked garage contains a rare Armed JLTV that requires access codes.

Lockdown Casual will launch as a 12v12 Verdansk mode designed around the new POI. Players will respawn with a killstreak, including the Juggernaut, and can earn rewards by using 15 killstreaks, defending a High Value zone for 120 seconds, and taking over five zones.

Heavy Metal Heroes will arrive during the season as a 50v50 Battle Royale mode focused on vehicle combat. Eliminations provide buffs such as faster movement, improved weapon handling, and ammunition and armor regeneration. Squads can also find mobility abilities including Flicker, Kinetic Jump, and the Grappling Hook, while extra respawn tokens and shorter revive and redeploy timers keep teams in the fight.

Warzone will add Juggernaut Armor to Resurgence and Battle Royale, airborne Supply Drones and Buy Stations to Battle Royale, and the HKDs killstreak to both Resurgence and Battle Royale. The HKDs releases Hunter Killer Drones over an enemy position. During the mid-season, Resurgence will receive the Quickdrop Kit and Special Delivery Drone.

Resurgence Ranked Play will use Rebirth Island, Fortune’s Keep, and Haven’s Hollow. Rewards include the “Storm of the Serpent” MK35 ISR Assault Rifle Blueprint after 10 top placements, a large decal after 100 top placements, and rank rewards through the Top 250 Champion tier.

Season 05 Weapons, Events, and Battle Pass

The Season 05 weapon lineup begins with the FG42 Assault Rifle and dual-wield Gremlin SMG, both available through the Battle Pass. The Mammoth LMG will arrive through an event, while the Mace melee weapon will be tied to Weekly Challenges. New attachments include the Jäger 45 Grid-Breaker Kit, M34 Novaline Garand Conversion, EAM IR-VIZ Thermal Reflex, M15 Mod 0 AMR .50 Cal Kit, RK-9 Calibrated Strike System, and Peacekeeper MK1 Gauss Accelerator.
