PAYDAY 3’s July patch puts 99 Boxes back under the spotlight

Starbreeze said the July update was smaller because much of the team was on vacation, but it still brings new contracts and a batch of fixes.

Starbreeze’s July PAYDAY 3 update is a smaller one, but it still gives 99 Boxes a fresh pass and adds new contracts. The studio said most of the team was on vacation, so this patch leans on targeted changes instead of a massive overhaul.

The rework for 99 Boxes touches objective flow, item placement, lighting, and a few quality-of-life details. Starbreeze also pointed players to recent behind-the-scenes footage and the Future of PAYDAY with Paul video for a closer look at the work.

The rest of the patch is mostly cleanup. It adjusts the default for teammate suspicious detection, fixes a crash tied to mask inventory after modding, clears up an Xbox key icon bug, and tightens up HEAT text plus several mask, loadout, and DLC menu issues.

The update arrives alongside a few days left in the Steam Summer Sale, where the studio said PAYDAY 3 DLC and other PAYDAY content were still discounted.
