Relic announced Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand for July 29, bringing a standalone wave-defense mode to PC via Steam. The new mode can be played alone or with one partner, and it does not require owning the main game.
Final Stand sends players through 12 escalating rounds of enemy pressure, with bosses and special “complications” changing the pace from run to run. Each attempt also folds in roguelite-style choices, since players pick from randomized units or abilities after waves and carry those decisions through the rest of the session.
Relic said the mode draws on the studio’s earlier wave-based work, including Dawn of War II: The Last Stand and Age of Empires IV: Crucible. It is built around the same World War II tactics that define Company of Heroes 3, but the extra progression layer gives each run more room to branch.
What Final Stand includes
- Solo play or two-player co-op
- US Forces, Wehrmacht, British Forces, and Deutsches Afrikakorps
- 12 waves with boss encounters
- 18 random in-game events
- 8 difficulty levels
- 5 custom maps for wave defense
- Endless Mode
- Faction-specific progression trees
- Four premium cosmetic packs
Relic priced Final Stand at $29.99, with a 20% discount for players who already own Company of Heroes 3 and a 10% launch-period discount for new buyers. The studio also said there are no current plans for post-launch content, with its attention staying on support, bug fixes, and the main Company of Heroes 3 experience. Launch support will include English audio plus text and interface options in French, Italian, German, Spanish – Spain, Czech, Korean, Polish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese – Brazil, Turkish, Russian, and Ukrainian.
