PUBG: Battlegrounds is bringing a faster New Blue Zone Ruleset: Rondo to Arcade Labs on July 1 for PC and on July 9 for consoles. The limited-time mode is built to push Rondo’s opening minutes into earlier fights and less wandering between loot spots.
The developer said the mode was designed for Rondo’s slower early game, where players can spend more time rotating than trading shots across the map. In this test, the first Blue Zone appears during the waiting phase, Phase 1 timing has been adjusted, and the first circle shown before the match starts is larger than before.
Loot and movement are part of the shake-up too. Item spawn rates are up by 25%, vehicle spawn rates are up by 25%, and plane routes are generated to intersect with or pass near the Phase 1 circle. Special Zones are disabled in this mode, which keeps the focus on the core battle royale flow.
There are also a few limits attached to the test. New Blue Zone Ruleset: Rondo does not grant Arcade Points, XP, gameplay rewards, match history entries, career page progress, or replays. It also runs as TPP in 4-man squads with a cap of 64 players.
The service window is different on each platform. On PC, the mode runs from July 1 at 07:00 UTC through July 15 at 00:00 UTC. On console, it runs from July 9 at 07:00 UTC through July 23 at 01:00 UTC.
Players who want to jump in need to go to Play > Arcade > New Blue Zone Ruleset: Rondo. PUBG said the gameplay data and feedback gathered during the test will help guide future updates to Rondo.
