Darktide’s Skitarii class is bringing a very Mechanicus arsenal

Fatshark broke down six new weapons, a new Plasma Gun mark, and the older guns and blades the class will also be able to use when it goes live on June 23.

On June 18, Fatshark laid out the weapon pool for the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Skitarii class, which will go live on June 23. The studio also pointed players back to the reveal trailer on YouTube and framed the post as part of an ongoing series focused on the new DLC class.

This latest breakdown centers on gear, and it leans hard into the Adeptus Mechanicus look and feel. Fatshark said the team pulled from the wider tabletop and lore armory, then narrowed the list to the pieces that best fit Skitarii combat roles and the rest of Darktide‘s battlefield demands.

New weapons for Skitarii

The Arc Maul is built to shock enemies on normal hits, then build charges for a powered state that adds Arc effects to every strike until the mode ends. The Paired Transonic Blades swap between two attunements, one tuned for crowd clearing and one for armored targets, with a special action that can shift modes in the middle of an attack chain. The Mechanicus Power Sword starts with charges, uses them for heavy special attacks, and keeps normal swings stronger while those charges are still banked.

Fatshark also detailed three ranged weapons that give the class a very different feel from the rest of the roster. The Galvanic Rifle is a semi-automatic precision weapon with high damage and limited ammo. The Arc Rifle is slower and heavier, but its shots jump to nearby enemies once they hit a target that is already electrified. The Phosphor Blast Pistol trades accuracy for close-range power and leaves behind a debuff that makes affected enemies easier for the squad to break apart.

The class is also getting the Plasma Gun Mk III, which will be usable by both Veteran and Skitarii. This mark leans more toward enemy explosions than heavy penetration, which gives it a different role from the version already in the game.

What else the class can carry

Alongside the new gear, Skitarii will have access to a slice of Darktide’s existing arsenal, including the Infantry Autogun, Braced Autogun, Vigilant Autogun, Heavy Laspistol, Plasma Gun Mk II, Quickdraw Stub Revolver, Shredder Autopistol, Assault Chainsword, “Devil’s Claw” Sword, Shock Maul, Power Falchion, and Combat Blade.

Fatshark said the goal was to make the new weapons feel like they belong to the Skitarii first, even when they share a battlefield with gear other classes already know. That means plenty of electricity, quick swaps between attack patterns, and a few tools that should help the team set up cleaner kills.

The Skitarii Alpha Primus class will go live on June 23. Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
