Hearts of Iron IV’s anniversary note puts multiplayer fixes next in line

Paradox said 1.19.1 landed on June 17, 2026, 1.19.2 is coming before the summer break, and a new open beta will focus on broader balance work.

Hearts of Iron IV just hit a big anniversary, and Paradox used the moment to map out what comes next. The studio said 1.19.1 went out on June 17, 2026, marking the first balance pass and a round of fixes after release.

Looking ahead, Paradox said 1.19.2 will arrive before the summer break. That update will bring the first batch of core networking improvements, with multiplayer listed as the main target. The team also said it is still working through balance concerns and plans another open beta over the summer for a wider pass on that side of the game.

The anniversary post also introduced Laszlo as the new game director for Hearts of Iron IV. He said he has been at Paradox for about 2.5 years and has spent nearly 9 years making games. On the forums, he goes by PDX_Batya. Paradox added that new Dev Corners are coming back soon, and interviews with content creators are planned for later release once they are ready.

Paradox said the launch itself went fairly smoothly on its end, even if the reaction was not as strong as the studio had hoped. For a game this old to still be getting fresh leadership, networking work, and another balance pass, the support plan is still very much alive.
