The First Descendant’s 1.3.31 patch brings a new Axion Plains run and an EVANGELION crossover
The June 18 patch is headed for Steam, Xbox, and PS5, and it also reworks Bunny, Valby, and several reward tables.

The First Descendant Update 1.3.31 will land after maintenance on June 18, 2026, and Nexon is packing a lot into it. The patch adds a new hard Infiltration Operation, a fresh Ultimate Weapon, a new Colossus fight, and a wide round of class and reward changes.
The update is coming to Steam, Xbox, and PS5. It also follows an earlier round of UI and reward tweaks in update 1.3.24, but this one goes much harder on combat tuning and new content.
Patch Notes
Bastion of Immortality is the headline addition. The new Infiltration Operation: Hard takes place in Axion Plains and opens after you clear Exposed Underwater Base once. Nexon says the mission changes route-based encounters, swaps turret layouts depending on the path you take, and ends with a fight against the Commander monster The Administrator.
The mission also brings a new reward pool. Players can earn Trigger Module Loot J, an Amorphous Material Pattern for Shackles of Mortality, Collectible Coins, Superconductive Cooling Units, Archive Shards, and rare crafting materials tied to the new weapon.
- New Ultimate Weapon: Shackles of Mortality, a Hand Cannon that uses Impact Rounds.
- New Trigger Modules: Electric Display and Golden Ensemble.
- Reward box update: Trigger Module Selection Box F now includes the two new modules.
- New boss: Tormentor replaces the Void Intercept Battle: Abyss/Challenge enemy.
Shackles of Mortality centers on its Circulation Ring ability. The weapon fires Resting Bullets on its first shot and after a set number of additional shots, then applies Rest on hit. Critical hits against a target with Rest can trigger extra effects, and the debuff can spread to nearby enemies when the target dies.
Tormentor brings a different kind of fight. The Electric Colossus uses a polarity system, summons Lightning Rods in Void Reflux mode, and becomes easier to handle once those rods are destroyed. Players need Mastery Rank 18 and the quest The Most Powerful Colossus to enter the fight. The related leaderboard period runs from after June 18 maintenance through July 15, 2026 at 00:19:59 PDT.
Bunny and Valby are both getting a lot of attention here. Valby and Ultimate Valby receive changes to Supply Moisture and better interaction handling while using Clean Up and Tidal Wave. Bunny and Ultimate Bunny get a Skill Critical Hit Rate increase, skill damage changes, and several Transcendent Module updates that rework how parts of the kit function. Ines also gets a gamepad camera fix during charging input.
The MP recovery changes matter too. The MP Recovery In Combat stat will now apply throughout a battle, and Nexon increased both in-combat and out-of-combat recovery for several MP-based Descendants.
Onslaught Mode is getting a fresh pass as well. The update adds three new Arche Parameters, Rampage, Heyday, and Life Plunder, while rebalance work shifts the value of several existing options. Nexon also raised melee weapon damage values across a few Arche Parameters and changed some mission and reward behavior tied to Onslaught and Void Erosion Purge.
Event timing is just as busy. The EVANGELION collaboration runs after the June 18 maintenance through July 29, 2026 at 23:59 PDT, while the login event Sea Day with Valby runs through July 22. Nexon also listed Accelerate Research Week, Descendant’s Weekend boosts, Ultimate Weapon Upgrade Mission II, a starter-focused Battlefield Support Operation, and a returning player path called Back to Albion.
The shop is getting a full collaboration drop too, with EVANGELION bundles, plugsuit sets, weapon skins, name cards, emotes, and lounge figurines tied to the crossover. There are also new limited bundles and growth items outside the crossover lineup.
Beyond the new content, Update 1.3.31 changes reward tables across Axion Plains, Sigma Sector, Void Vessel, Bounty Operations, and other modes. It also raises High-Power Round capacity, updates melee weapon handling, adds Transaction Protection Mode for inactive accounts, and cleans up a long list of bugs across descendants, weapons, monsters, missions, and UI screens.
That is a hefty patch by any standard, and June 18 is doing a lot of work for The First Descendant. Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
