Rockstar Games said GTA Online will receive a new update in summer 2026, and the tease came at the end of its latest Newswire post about changes already on the way. The studio said it is still working on balance updates, cheating concerns, and players who abuse vehicle resale exploits, while the base payouts for certain jobs will increase next week.
That same Newswire post also said Rockstar is adjusting vehicle prices and lowering resale values for vehicles tied to exploit abuse. The changes sit under an “Upcoming Improvements and Adjustments” section, which makes clear the summer update is part of a wider round of live-game upkeep rather than a one-off teaser.
Rockstar did not share a date or a feature list for the update. For now, the only firm detail is that the studio says there will be “a variety of special events and celebrations” alongside the summer release.
