ARC Raiders’ Riven Tides update is getting a cold Steam reception
Since April 29, negative Steam reviews have outnumbered positive ones on most days, even though ARC Raiders still holds an 85% positive overall rating on the platform.

Embark Studios pushed the Riven Tides update into ARC Raiders a few days ago, but Steam players have not been kind to it. The patch was billed as the finale to the Escalation roadmap, bringing a new map, a major ARC threat, and more ways to play, yet the reaction has been far rougher than the studio likely wanted.
Since April 29, the game’s recent reviews have leaned negative. That day brought more negative reviews than positive reviews, and the balance stayed skewed through the rest of the week. On May 1, the gap narrowed, but May 2 swung back hard.
The update did not do much for the player count either, with only a short-lived bump before things settled back down. Some of the pushback appears tied to the patch’s emphasis on PvP and the changes to weapon durability, both of which seem to have gone down poorly with a chunk of the audience.
Even with that backlash, ARC Raiders still sits at 85% positive overall on Steam, so there is still a lot of goodwill baked into the game’s launch. If this wave of negative feedback keeps building, though, that cushion will start to thin out.
