Phasmophobia will bring its Player Character Update to all platforms on May 5, 2026, and the change list goes well beyond a simple visual pass.
Kinetic Games said the lobby’s customization shop will finally open, letting players pick from one of 12 characters and adjust details like clothing and hair color. The studio also said more items will be added later through future updates and Twitch Drops.
One of the first rewards tied to the update is a High Priestess T-shirt, which will be available for Phasmophobia creators to distribute from May 5 through May 11. Players who want to earn Twitch Drops will need to connect their Twitch account through Kinetic Games’ Twitch Drops page.
The update also brings new character animations, plus a few changes that should be felt during an investigation. Kinetic Games said it will remove the death room and adjust how players interact with the environment and their equipment.
The studio said a full rundown will arrive when the update launches, and it will share exact release timings through its social channels and official Discord server. Kinetic Games had already pointed to the broader 2026 plan in a previous Phasmophobia roadmap preview.
