Blizzard slips a gold bonus into WoW Solo Shuffle healer rewards
Field Medic's Hazard Payout now gives healers around 500 gold in Solo Shuffle, plus an occasional Augment Rune, but players are split on whether that is enough to matter.

Blizzard has added a gold reward for healers in World of Warcraft‘s Solo Shuffle PvP mode, and the change surfaced through a Reddit post rather than an official announcement. The reward comes through Field Medic’s Hazard Payout, which now grants around 500 gold and can also drop an Augment Rune.
The bonus appears aimed at nudging more healers into the queue, and the extra gold is nice for players who already heal, yet many in the community think 500 gold is too small to change how people approach the role.
One wrinkle is that the rune reward may matter more than the gold itself. The Void-Touched Augment Rune has trade value, though its price may fall if more of them enter circulation. One player also said they spent an all-nighter grinding Restoration games and came away with roughly 30,000 gold, which shows the reward can add up over a long session.
For many players, 500 gold barely covers the basics. Some pointed out that it is easy to earn that much from mining nodes or by running professions, and one reply in the Reddit thread said the payout barely pays for repairs. That is why the reward feels more like a small perk than a real incentive.
Others argued that the core issue is not the payout at all. The bigger problem, as players see it, is that healing in Solo Shuffle does not feel as satisfying as it once did, while the format itself still tends to favor DPS in terms of enjoyment. In that view, a gold bonus helps, but it does not fix the reason many healers stay away in the first place.
A few players suggested that a higher reward, somewhere around 3,000 to 5,000 gold per match, might have a much stronger effect. At the current rate, it seems more like a thank-you for people already queueing than a reason for new players to swap roles.
For now, this gives healers a little extra value for taking part in Solo Shuffle, even if it is unlikely to transform the queue by itself.
