Nearly 20 Minutes of Crimson Desert Running on a Base PS5 Shows Lower Fidelity but Stable Performance
PlayStation Japan's Play! Play! Play! broadcast posted almost 20 minutes of base PS5 gameplay with Japanese commentary and on‑screen graphics, and the build runs without obvious frame‑rate issues.

PlayStation Japan posted nearly 20 minutes of Crimson Desert gameplay on March 17 as part of its Play! Play! Play! series, giving the clearest look so far at how Pearl Abyss’ open‑world RPG performs on a stock PlayStation 5.
The clip includes Japanese commentary and on‑screen text, and it emphasizes gameplay captured on the base PS5 rather than Pro hardware or high‑end PCs. Visual detail is noticeably reduced compared with footage shown previously on more powerful machines, but the segment did not show obvious technical faults or visible frame‑rate drops during combat and exploration.
The footage runs through combat, traversal, and world presentation. While texture quality, draw distance, and some effects look pared back, animations and enemy encounters appeared consistent throughout the segment.

Console & PC Gaming has previously covered the game’s features and target launch timing, and you can have a look at the March 19 release for more on what to expect from the full launch.
This Play! Play! Play! segment offers a practical sense of what owners of a base PS5 will see when Crimson Desert ships, even if the Pro and PC builds present a richer visual package. Share your thoughts on the footage in the comments below, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
