Terraria’s 1.4.5 Bigger & Boulder update launches after three years

ReLogic has released Terraria version 1.4.5, titled Bigger & Boulder, with development stretching just over three years from the original announcement. The update went live on January 27, 2026 and follows an initial announcement in 2022 and an expected 2023 launch window that expanded as the project grew.

The update began as a small crossover idea tied to Dead Cells but expanded into a much larger package during development. ReLogic describes the finished update as having an extensive changelog and says it did not list every addition so players can discover surprises in-game. The official notes are available on the Terraria forums and outline the major highlights. ReLogic’s update notes say some content will remain undisclosed to preserve discovery. The studio also framed parts of the update as new ways to play, rather than only straightforward content additions.

One of the most visible additions is a new skyblock world seed that places players on floating terrain with limited resources. ReLogic warns the seed changes fundamental resource and movement dynamics and forces different survival strategies because a single fall can be catastrophic. The overall changelog is large and spans numerous systems, items, and world features. ReLogic and community posting indicate that players should expect a mix of new biomes, items, and mechanics, plus hidden content that will be revealed through play rather than a single complete public list.

A trailer for 1.4.5 is available online and accompanies the release. The official trailer link is included below for players who want a quick preview of the new content.

Terraria’s 1.4.5 release arrives 15 years after the game’s earlier declared finish and reflects the long-running habit of expanding the title well beyond its original scope. For updates and discussion about Terraria follow the feeds on X, Bluesky, YouTube, and Instagram.
