The Battlefield 6 Community Update for Challenges and Assignments went live today on, applying a server-side change that alters more than 90 challenge and assignment requirements to reduce grind and clarify intent. The developer says the goal is to keep progression skill-driven while aligning many tasks with typical session lengths. Any progress players have already made will be recalculated automatically when they next enter a match, and the first set of changes is available immediately.
What changed, in plain numbers
- Class Challenges – Class goals like Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon now complete much faster. Example: Assault 2 (have squadmates deploy on your Spawn Beacon) was reduced from 50 deploys to 5. Support 2 (revive teammates as Support) was cut from 200 revives to 60.
- Weapon Assignments – All weapon-type assignments were simplified. Example: Rapid Fire 1 – Assault Rifle went from 10000 inflicted damage to 3000.
- Mode & Unit Assignments – Mode-specific assignments for Conquest, Rush, Breakthrough, Domination, and others were standardized. Example: Conquest 2 wins dropped from 5 to 2. Conquest 3 objective kills in a round went from 30 to 10.
- Gameplay & Mastery – “Expert” and “Master” assignments tied to multi-kills, headshots, streaks, and revives were retuned to match average round performance. Example: Explosives Expert 2 multi-kills fell from 20 to 5, and Adaptable 2 vehicle repair went from 3000 damage to 500.
Reroll challenges system
The reroll mechanic was adjusted so rerolling will no longer give Battlefield 6 players a challenge that can only be completed in REDSEC. Players who have REDSEC enabled will still be able to receive REDSEC-only rerolls. Rerolls remain random, but the pool is now filtered to avoid handing impossible tasks to non-REDSEC players.
We previously covered the specific reroll problem in an earlier story on rerolled challenges forcing non-REDSEC players into REDSEC, and this update addresses that complaint directly. The team says gameplay data and community feedback guided these changes, and that further server-side and client-side updates are planned to refine Challenges and Assignments over time.
