Battlefield 6 includes a small tribute to the YouTube series Battlefield Friends: a decorative, nonfunctional knife with a bipod attachment and a note that reads “Promoted!” tucked inside a tent in the No Sleep campaign mission. It is a quiet nod that longtime fans will recognize and a nice bit of texture in the single-player areas.
In the mission No Sleep, the game drops players into a base camp with several tents. The knife is located inside one tent (via MP1st), positioned near a metal fence to the left of the main objective. Players will find it beside a backpack on a bed. The knife is decorative only, but the attached note reading Promoted! is a direct callback to Noob from Battlefield Friends shouting that line when he earned a rank.
Battlefield Studios has sprinkled a few Easter eggs through the campaign before. The team previously placed penguin references in Battlefield 2042, and the Battlefield Friends cast made appearances in Battlefield 1.
