Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds 2 comes with a single pre-order pack and two purchase tiers, and the Premium Edition adds early access, planned story DLC, and several digital extras that some players will want to weigh before buying.
The standard pre-order bonus is called Commander Zane’s Anti-Monopolistic Battle Pack, which includes armor patterned after Commander Zane, a pet drone, a pistol, and a dagger. If you prefer a wider bundle, the Premium Edition also grants access to the game five days earlier than standard edition buyers and Game Pass subscribers, plus additional digital content.
There are only two editions available: Standard and Premium. The Standard Edition is just the game, and it costs $69.99 for non-Game Pass players. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will have access to the Standard Edition on day one.
The Premium Edition costs $99.99, or Game Pass players can buy a $29.99 upgrade pack to get the Premium content. Premium buyers receive the early access window, two future story DLC packs at no extra charge when they release, a digital art book, and the soundtrack. It also includes another named in-game bundle called Moon Man’s Corporate Appreciation Premium Prize Pack, which contains a Moon Man helmet, a Moon Man staff, a gun, and an alien rat pet.
One crucial platform detail is that only the PS5 version will be available on physical disc. The Xbox version will not be available in a physical copy. If you want to check platform support before deciding, see whether the game will be available on your preferred platform.
