Konami will host a Metal Gear Solid Production Hotline livestream at Tokyo Game Show next week that will focus on the online Fox Hunt mode for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and it plans to send a follow-up survey to fans after the show. Questions from that survey have leaked online, and one asks which Metal Gear title people would like to see remade.
The survey, which has been shared publicly via a Japanese questionnaire page, asks respondents to select all series entries they would like to see remade. The options cover a wide span of the franchise, from the original 2D Metal Gear through the modern entries.
Choices listed in the leaked form include Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Peace Walker, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The questionnaire pages are visible online if readers want to see the exact wording.
Images and commentary from the leak were circulated on social channels by the Metal Gear Network, and the survey itself appears on a Questant page set up for the Production Hotline. The push to ask fans directly follows Konami recently bringing Metal Gear Solid 3 back to current platforms via the Delta remake handled by Virtuos.
Konami also included a question that references a possible Volume 2 of the Master Collection, suggesting the company is still gauging interest in another compilation. Volume 1, released in October 2023, bundled Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, and 3 for modern systems, and many fans have been waiting to see if a second volume will arrive.
There have been long-running requests for a full Metal Gear Solid 1 remake on modern hardware, so that option could prove popular when survey results are tallied. Which title would get a full remake, and how faithful such a project would be, are questions fans will be watching closely.
