Palworld fans might want to settle in for a long wait. John “Bucky” Buckley, a developer and publishing manager at Pocketpair, has shared that something quite big has happened behind the scenes, but he can’t say a word about it for at least a year or two. Keeping this secret is quite the challenge for him.
Bucky took to Twitter recently to drop this teaser, saying, “Something very interesting happened and I literally won’t be able to talk about it for like…at least a year or two…but you guys are going to be super excited about it!” He followed up by calling it “big things” and confessed, “it’s gonna kill me” to keep quiet. He even joked about “gnawing my legs off trying not to reveal.” Wow, that’s some serious self-restraint.
Now, what could it be? Pocketpair launched its publishing arm earlier this year, preparing to support indie developers with funding and publishing. Since then, they’ve published Dead Take, a horror game from Surgent Studios, announced Truckful, a truck adventure with a small-town mystery vibe, and recently signed “a VERY interesting game” with others in the pipeline. But Bucky’s cryptic message seems separate from those projects.
Could Pocketpair be cooking up a sequel to Palworld? The original game has been quite successful so that a follow-up might be coming soon. Or maybe the surprise involves the quirky Palworld – More Than Just Pals dating sim, which has a real Steam page and is already causing a surprise. Guess they’re keeping us guessing for now…
In any case, this kind of mystery makes you wonder: why keep something under wraps for so long? Is it a new game, a significant partnership, or something else entirely? Fans will have to wait patiently while Bucky endures the torture of silence.
