Deep Rock Galactic is preparing for its annual Space Beach Party event, starting July 31st at 13:00 CEST. If you’ve been mining away and wondering when you’ll get a break, this seasonal event might just be the perfect excuse to take a breather and enjoy some sun, sand, and pool floaties, well, space-style.
Here’s what you’ll get to experience during the two-week event:
Earn the New Swim Instructor Hat
Forget freebies. The Swim Instructor hat will be yours only after completing the special assignment in the Mission Terminal. So yes, you’ll have to work for it, but imagine the bragging rights while sporting that hat on your next mission. Plus, it kinda fits the summer vibe, right?
Hats from Past Space Beach Parties
If you missed last year’s event or are a fresh recruit, don’t worry. The company has dug up some old stock, meaning you can unlock all previous Space Beach Party hats by completing a single work assignment. Definitely a nice throwback collection to show off.
Pool Floaty Recovery Mission
Here’s where things get funny and frustrating. Longbeard Freight, the usual courier, somehow crashed their freighter and lost a shipment of inflatable pool floaties all over the caves of Hoxxes. Your job? Find and deposit these scattered pool toys during missions. And yes, you’ll get a Double Performance Pass Point Bonus for helping out your whole team. Who knew pool floaties could be so helpful?
Beach Vibes on the Space Rig
Expect the Space Rig to be decked out with tropical palm leaves, inflatables, water balloons, and paper luau lanterns. The Abyss Bar will even have a mini beach created by dumping sand and boron on the dance floor. Just a heads up: standing on that sand mix for more than 90 seconds isn’t recommended—don’t ask me why, but it sounds like a hazard!
So, remember for July 31st. Grab your sunscreen (SPF 50+), your pickaxe, and prepare to party like a space miner. Will you be rocking the Swim Instructor hat or hunting down those elusive pool floaties? Either way, it sounds like a fun way to disrupt your usual mining routine.
