There’s a Hidden GTA 6 Map Detail Spotted in Trailer 2 Screenshots

Fans discover a subtle Leonida Keys map hint in GTA 6’s second trailer screenshots.

Rockstar Games might’ve broken a lot of hearts when they pushed back Grand Theft Auto 6 to May 26, 2026, but there’s a cool little detail that’s been chillin’ in plain sight since the second trailer dropped. It’s a tiny hand-drawn map tucked away in one of the Brian Heder screenshots, and it’s giving fans a clearer peek at the Leonida Keys area. Honestly, I’m surprised it took this long for people to notice.

Back in May, Rockstar said they needed more time to polish GTA 6 to meet fans’ high expectations. Alongside that news, they also released the second trailer and nearly 100 fresh screenshots, which got the community talking. Everyone’s been combing through them, trying to catch any secret hints, and this little map detail is one of those gems that’s been hiding right under our noses.

In the screenshot featuring a new character standing in a hangar, there’s a hand-drawn map beneath him that some fans are convinced shows part of the Leonida Keys. One fan pointed out that this suggests the Leonida Keys will be bigger than expected, and the detail Rockstar put into these map teasers is pretty wild. Another fan mentioned the map’s angle makes it tricky to spot, which probably explains why it slipped past so many.

There’s also chatter about water travel possibly having a much bigger role in GTA 6. Imagine cruising through waterways or islands that are larger and more detailed than before. You’ll probably love this if you enjoy exploring every nook and cranny in the game world.

Rockstar revealed a small glimpse of the GTA 6 map that most people missed.

Some fans have speculated this map hint could even point towards another country, keeping alive the long-running rumors about GTA 6’s expansive setting. However, Rockstar seems to be keeping things quiet for now. According to a gaming expert, we probably won’t see more teasers until closer to 2026 since the developers have “stalled” conversations about the game’s hype to manage expectations.

It’s quite remarkable how a simple detail, like a hand-drawn map in a screenshot, can spark so much excitement and theory-crafting. What do you think about the Leonida Keys possibly being larger and more important?
