The Sims 4 got a fresh update on July 16, and this one’s all about fixing those weird pregnancy problems that popped up earlier this month. It’s a smaller patch compared to the usual, but if you’ve been messing around with expecting Sims, this will definitely matter.

Maxis explained that the update addresses issues introduced on July 1, 2025, related to pregnancy mechanics on PC, Mac, and consoles. Those bugs were caused by some performance tweaks, but they have now been reversed to restore things to normal. If you use pregnancy mods, they should mostly work like before, though it’s a good idea to double-check with the mod creators.

The Sims 4 Patch July 16 Bug Fixes

Base Game

  • EA Forums: Pregnancy works as it did before the July 1 patch.

The bug report thread is kinda hilarious if you want to see the wild stuff players encountered.

Recent Fixes from July 10 Patch

Base Game / Multipack

  • EA Forums: You can drag spoiled items from inventories to trash or sinks again.
  • EA Forums: The Sharing is Caring Whiteboard is placeable once more.
  • EA Forums: Gnomes stopped their glitchy wiggle and jump behavior after placement.
  • Plants keep their names and info when placing lots with gardened plants from the Gallery.
  • EA Forums: Household members with custom paintings now keep textures when switching households, including pets and supernatural Sims.

Seasons

  • Seed packets from Gnomes can now be put into your Sim’s inventory.

Console

  • Stability issues from a previous console update have been addressed. Maxis will monitor performance.

There you have it, a tidy little patch mostly focused on pregnancy and some other pesky bugs. Pretty crucial if you’ve been caught up in those Sims pregnancy glitches, right? I wonder how many Sims were left in limbo because of that missing pregnancy test? Yikes.
