InZoi Studio Removes Denuvo, Promises Mod Support

InZoi Studio is preparing for the early access launch of its life simulator, InZoi, tomorrow. Amidst discussions about modding capabilities, the developers have announced they will remove the Denuvo DRM from the game, signaling their commitment to community-driven content right from the start.

Game director and producer Hyungjun “Kjun” Kim shared this update on InZoi’s official Steam page. Initially, Denuvo was included to prevent illegal distribution; however, after consulting with teams worldwide, Kim concluded that it wouldn’t benefit players in the long run. He stated that removing Denuvo allows for a more flexible experience and opens doors for players to create and share their own content.

We understand that removing Denuvo increases the risk of the game being cracked and illegally distributed after release,” Kim remarked. “At the same time, we believe it opens up a helpful opportunity: It allows InZoi to become more freely configurable–unlocking new ways for players to shape new experiences for other players.” This decision reflects their goal of fostering creativity within their community.

KJin also acknowledged past concerns regarding mod capabilities. Previously, discussions indicated that modding would be limited mainly to cosmetic changes such as skins or clothing due to certain restrictions in their terms of service. However, he regretted any confusion these statements may have caused and reassured fans of their dedication to making InZoi highly moddable.
