The developers of SCUM have just posted its development update #122, which reveals upcoming bug fixes and new features coming throughout the coming months. In their words:
February is coming to a close, and we’re slowly marching into the next month. But nice weather isn’t the only thing coming closer, as deadlines will start to creep on us soon enough.
Our talented programmers have been busy tidying up and making significant strides with their aeronaval marvel. Yes, that’s right! They’re cooking up some eye-catching features like the gardens’ health system and sweet UI improvements. Oh, and let’s not forget about their ongoing efforts in the Anti-cheat department. It’s like they’re on a mission from gaming heaven!
Meanwhile, the LD team has taken “cleaning house” to a new level. They’re scrubbing each rock in SCUM with toothbrushes (seriously!) to make sure everything looks pristine for your adventures later this year. Plus, they’re tackling those pesky bugs. It’s all hands on deck!
Animation has been whipping up fresh animations alongside bug-fixing galore while keeping an eye on weapon-related issues, you can’t have any glitches when you’re taking down foes, right? The Hard Surface team is still grinding away at that highly anticipated tractor and a stylish sawed-off Deagle (um, yes, please!). On top of that, they’re optimizing performance so we can play without hiccups.
Over at Soft Surface, they’ve cleared visas for NPCs, a crucial step for letting them cross onto SCUM Island! Talk about expanding our universe!
And how could we forget about sound? The sound department has been busy perfecting environmental effects, so every little click or crackle sounds just right.
Kudos to our QA and CM teams, who’ve kept things moving smoothly by testing new features while actively hunting down cheaters—what would we do without them? Last but not least, our design crew continues their battle against bugs while also squeezing in conversations about DEENA’s future development within the game. Exciting times ahead!
Your Impressions from Last Week’s Transmission:
- I personally love it; it’s basically a modular AK-74 with its built-in full-length rails. An ability to fire full-, semi-auto, and two-round bursts along with a grenade launcher certainly offers a lot of versatility… We do already have five AKs in the game; if we were to put new guns into SCUM, we’d probably go for something with a little more oomph.
- This one will get fixed surely but part of a bigger collective of issues—you might not see that fix before 1.0.
- We’re not backtracking on anything; there are no set plans regarding server files—they will not be released before version 1.0 drops…but stay tuned!
- To answer your question shortly—Yes! Can’t share more at this moment though.
- While the tractor will feature modularity having turrets is far-fetched; it’d be rather neat though!
