Valve Removes the Classic Dota 2 MMR, It’s all about Seasons Right Now!

As Valve had noted back when they released Dota 2 7.07 update, it is all about seasonal MMR right now! Yes, Valve has just removed the “dynamic” and “static” MMR from the accounts of every player. They have added the so-called seasonal MMR to Dota 2, which is going to allow players determine and prove that their play level is higher than what it is now.

This change will have a big impact on concurrent players’ number since the beginning. Lots of retired Dota 2 players will probably come back to Dota 2 just to recalibrate their MMR and find out their level of skill. However, it’s not about the numbers anymore. Instead, Valve has included badges which are showing your skill level.

In order to calibrate the first medal, players will need to play 10 matches in a row.

Therefore, Dota 2 might become the most played game once more, now that we have something that pinpoints what Heroes of the Storm and League of Legends have. Additionally, all of the seasonal ranked medals can be found below.

  1. Herald
  2. Guardian
  3. Crusader
  4. Archon
  5. Legend
  6. Ancient
  7. Divine

If a player wants to progress to a higher level and get a higher medal, he will need to pass five stars of progress before his next promotion. Therefore, Dota 2 becomes fun and interesting game to attend once more, since these changes are going to reset every six months.

By adding Seasonal Rank Medals, all of the players will have a chance to reunite with the professionals once again and stand along with them on their path to glory.
