Nintendo Completes Full Acquisition of Monolith Soft

In an exciting turn of events, Nintendo has officially taken full ownership of Monolith Soft, the talented minds behind the acclaimed Xenoblade Chronicles series. It’s like when you finally find that missing ingredient for your favorite dish, everything feels right!

According to a recent report from Automaton, Nintendo’s company page for Monolith now shows that it holds 2,400 shares, with 100% owned by our favorite gaming giant. This transition happened quietly over the last few months since they previously had about 96% of the shares.

Isn’t it fascinating how these corporate moves can happen without much fanfare? Just think back to October 1st. Archived versions from the Wayback still indicated that Nintendo had only 2,320 shares then. Those remaining 80 shares belonged to Monolith’s co-founders, Hirohide Sugiura and Yasuyuki Honne. But by November 21st, everything had changed, and the records reflected Nintendo’s complete acquisition.

For those who may not know, Monolith Soft has been a powerhouse in game development for over 15 years, primarily focusing on crafting rich worlds and awesome narratives within the Xenoblade Chronicles franchise. They’ve also dabbled in projects like the Project X Zone crossover RPGs on the 3DS. Talk about versatility!

Think about games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and its sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Tears of the Kingdom. They’ve practically woven themselves into Nintendo’s fabric! And let’s not forget their contributions to popular titles like Splatoon and Animal Crossing.

Fans can anticipate their next big release: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition. This port will return memories from its original launch on Wii U in 2015, but with improved visuals and added story elements, it will hit Switch on March 20, 2025. Can you believe it’s almost here?

This acquisition could mean exciting things for future collaborations between Nintendo and Monolith Soft. Who knows what innovative gameplay mechanics or storytelling techniques might emerge? I can’t help but feel a little giddy thinking about it!

So there you have it! As we continue to watch this dynamic duo evolve together, let’s keep our fingers crossed for even more breathtaking adventures in gaming. Until next time, stay safe out there, gamers! Remember, sometimes, it takes one small change to create something extraordinary.
