Call of Duty Black Ops 6 has revealed its Zombies counterpart with a banging new Trailer. The trailer is called Terminus (embedded above), which pretty much reveals the continuation of the Dark Aether storyline. Activision, Treyarch and Raven Software should be happy about this reveal, as the community feedback seems strong over this one, at least so far.
The story picks up after the events of CoD: Black Ops Cold War, where the team led by the CIA closed the last dimensional portal which should’ve kept the undead inside the Dark Aether. While it was perceived as a victory, Agent Samatha Maxis further sacrificed herself to seal the dimension from within. The aftermath saw Requiem’s senior staff arrested under orders from Edward Richtofen, who was revealed to be the Project Director.
5 years fast forward and we have CoD Black Ops 6 Zombies deeper into the very same narrative, where the storyline tracks the fate of characters and explores Richtofen’s motives. The Terminus team consists of Grigori Weaver, Mackenzie “Mac” Carver, Elizabeth Grey, Oskar Strauss and Raptor One. They are held at Terminus, which is a hidden outpost in the Philippine Sea. More about them can be found below:
- Grigori Weaver emerges as a veteran, determined to uncover and dismantle Richtofen’s dangerous plans.
- Elizabeth Grey evolves from a naive scientist into a formidable fighter. Her mentor, Carver, played a significant role in her transformation.
- Mackenzie “Mac” Carver remains loyal to his friends, despite his disillusionment with the military.
- Oskar Strauss, struggling with age and the effects of incarceration, leans heavily on his colleagues for both physical and mental support, while Raptor One brings his piloting expertise and gritty determination to the team.
The narrative takes a weird turn with the arrival of Maya Aguinaldo, a Filipina smuggler driven by a personal quest to find her missing brother. Her mission intersects with the team’s when she brings along the controversial Dr. William Peck.
The Terminus Island soon becomes the epicenter of a new Dark Aether outbreak, raising suspicions about Aguinaldo and Peck’s true intentions. Simultaneously, the West Virginian town of Liberty Falls faces its own zombie apocalypse. Despite their differences and past grievances, the team must unite to survive these simultaneous threats.
On August 8 at 8 AM PT and 11 AM ET, the CoD Blog will release new details on its Zombies component. As per the Treyarch Zombies Team, there should be new gameplay overviews, pre-match preparation options, round-based gameplay details, and more.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will launch on October 25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. The game will also be available through Xbox Game Pass.
