It looks like some classic Activision games are making their way to Xbox Game Pass in August. This has been a long time coming, and it’s about time we get some official confirmation. The initial rumor came from eXtas1s on the eXputer forums. Now, I know what you’re thinking, eXtas1s doesn’t exactly have the best track record. Well, Jez Corden from WindowsCentral has stepped in to back up the claim.
According to eXtas1s, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 remake and the Spyro Reignited Trilogy will soon hit the subscription service. These are some heavy hitters! Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 is a bomb for anyone who grew up with the original games, and Spyro? Come on, who doesn’t love that purple dragon?
As per the official claim:
The first Activision games will arrive on Game Pass in August.
Since the closing of the ABK purchase in October 2023, we have only received Diablo IV on Game Pass and confirmation of Black Ops 6 arriving Day 1 on Game Pass in October 2024.
According to our sources and certain graphic evidence, I have been able to find out the arrival window to Game Pass for what appears to be the first (or one of the first) Activision games coming to Game Pass.
The name is Crash N’Sane Trilogy, and it will land on Game Pass sometime in August (I do not know if it can be played through xCloud).
Logically, I’m also looking forward to the arrival of Tony Hawk 1+2 and Spyro Reignited Trilogy, which I know are coming very soon but I cannot guarantee their arrival to the service in the same month.
Regarding the arrival of some Call Of Duty games, I currently have no information about whether they will arrive in August, or whether we’d have to wait even longer.
Jez Corden’s report adds some meat to the bones. He says Microsoft’s plan isn’t to dump the entire Activision back catalog onto Game Pass at once. Instead, they’re going to trickle it in gradually. This makes sense from a business perspective. It keeps people subscribed and always looking forward to what’s coming next.
When are we getting the old Call of Duty games on Game Pass? This has been a burning question since Microsoft finalized the Activision acquisition. Imagine jumping back into Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops, or even the original Modern Warfare.
