The 2019 critically acclaimed post-apocalyptic shooter, Metro Exodus, continues to excel in sales, now surpassing 10 million copies sold since its release in February 2019. The announcement arrived through the official X profile of Metro Exodus, also celebrating its fifth anniversary.
In Metro Exodus, players follow the journey of Artyom, Anna, and their companions as they depart Moscow aboard the Aurora train, searching for signs of other human survivors. This installment introduces larger mission areas filled with collectibles and points of interest, alongside the ability to craft items on the move and earn upgrades through side missions.
Looking ahead, 4A Games is actively developing two new additions to the Metro franchise. Metro Awakening, a virtual reality prequel set before Metro 2033, is slated for release this year on PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest 2 and 3, and PC VR platforms. Additionally, the studio is crafting the fourth main entry in the series, promising to deliver it when it’s ready.
Metro Exodus is available on multiple platforms, including Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
