Yuji Horii Says AI Helped Make Interrogation Room Komiya in About 30 Minutes
Players choose text prompts to get a suspect to confess, while Horii had previously discussed AI-assisted mystery gameplay.

On Oct. 11, Yuji Horii said he made Interrogation Room Komiya with generative AI in about 30 minutes. Players choose text prompts as they try to get a suspect to confess.
Horii contrasted the process with creating The Portopia Serial Murder Case, where he wrote the story, drew the art, and programmed the game himself. For Komiya, he described giving instructions to AI instead of handling the drawing and coding himself.

Horii had previously discussed AI handling interrogations and supporting mystery gameplay through conversation at G-Star 2025 in South Korea, in comments covered by Automaton. Those comments focused on AI as part of the gameplay, while his description of Komiya centers on using AI to make the game. He did not connect the experiment to Dragon Quest 12, and his post does not indicate that AI is being used on the RPG.
