Young Suns will leave Game Preview with its 1.0 launch, expanding KO_OP’s cozy life sim on Jupiter with 12 new moonlets, faction storylines, more quests, and broader character customization. The 1-to-4-player game will support solo play or groups of up to four, and the launch is also listed with Xbox Play Anywhere support alongside PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass access.
Xbox detailed the plan in its 1.0 launch announcement. Game Preview save data will not work with the 1.0 version, so players who started early will need to begin again when the full launch arrives.
The 1.0 launch trailer accompanies the update with a look at the colorful world, spacecraft, and characters waiting across the Jovian System.
What the 1.0 launch adds
Players will be able to travel across 12 new moonlets, collect resources, and craft dozens of items. New decoration sets will give them more ways to personalize their ship, while three new quest types will introduce the revolutionaries working to rebuild the Jovian System after its successful uprising.
The Jovipedia will let players record information about the region’s ecosystem and history. Relationships are also getting more room to grow, with a cast of characters who respond to the player’s actions through reactive dialogue and daily chats.
Eight factions will offer different visions for the future. Players can choose which group to support, earn reputation, and unlock rewards for their character and ship.
Jupiter gets new places and stories
Young Suns takes place after the people of Jupiter break free from corporate control, and the 1.0 content will fill that setting with more places to visit. Derelict ruins will contain pre-revolutionary junk, converted stations will reuse machinery left behind by corporations, and moonlets will offer fantastical flora, fauna, mineral deposits, and abandoned construction materials.
That mix of rebuilding and scavenging gives the game’s peaceful tone plenty to work with. Players can roam alone or bring up to three friends while repairing broken objects, helping communities, and improving the ship they call home.
Feedback is changing character creation
Game Preview feedback has already led to several player-facing changes. A request for an easier way to clear inventory resulted in donation boxes at stations. These boxes will free up backpack space while giving players a way to earn gratitude by contributing items to the wider community.
More masculine hairstyles were another community request. The 1.0 version will offer a wider selection, continuing KO_OP’s focus on giving players more control over how their characters look.
During Game Preview, all cosmetics were unlocked from the beginning. In 1.0, some cosmetic rewards will instead come from visiting moonlets, trading with factions, and completing quests, tying character style more closely to the world and its stories.

Players will begin in the somaforming chamber at Wednesday station, where they can choose their character’s age, face paint, and spacesuit. The creator includes a wide range of body types, skin tones, hair textures, and body sizes, along with arm and leg prostheses.
Your ship remains the home base
The ship is more than a way to cross the stars. Players will be able to personalize it with 80+ discoverable recipes and items, paint its walls, arrange shelves, and turn the vessel into a comfortable home between trips.

Young Suns is built around one to two hours of daily play, with daily and weekly quests, ship projects, and relationships to manage at a relaxed pace. The 1.0 launch will give that routine more destinations, more people to meet, and more ways to decide what kind of future the Jovian System should have.
