You can Now Catch a Rare Shiny Rayquaza in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet can catch a shiny Rayquaza in five-star Tera Raid Battles. If you’re wondering what makes this event stand out, it’s not just any ordinary Rayquaza. This one has Dragon as its Tera Type!

This dazzling shiny is also a nod to the ongoing anime series Pokémon Horizons, making it even more exciting for fans. Remember, you can only catch this shiny beauty once per saved data. But don’t fret! Even if you’ve already seen it, you’ll still have the chance to compete against it to earn other fabulous rewards.

And here’s the kicker: while you’re hunting for Rayquaza, there’s also a mass outbreak event featuring black-shaded Pokémon. Keep your eyes peeled for Fraxure, Carbink, and Cetoddle popping up across various locations. The best part? These little guys are more likely to be shiny during this special event!

  • Date: December 20 – January 5: Shiny Rayquaza available in five-star Tera Raid Battles.
  • Tera Type: Dragon.
  • Catching Limit: One per save data; additional battles available for other rewards.
  • Concurrent Event: Mass outbreaks featuring Shiny Fraxure (Blueberry Academy), Carbink (Kitakami), and Cetoddle (Paldea).
  • Sparking Chance: Increased likelihood of encountering Shiny forms during mass outbreaks.
  • Tera Raid Participation: Available after completing the main story or through multiplayer with fellow trainers.

If you’re curious where to find them, Fraxure will hang out at Blueberry Academy’s Terrarium; Carbink is waiting for you in Kitakami, and Cetoddle is frolicking around the Paldea region. It’s full of shinies! To join in on these exciting 5-star Tera Raid Battles, ensure you’ve completed Pokémon Scarlet’s or Pokémon Violet’s main story. But don’t worry if you haven’t finished yet. You can still join forces with other Trainers in multiplayer mode.
