Xbox showcase rumor points to April 16, with Metro 2039 tied to the reveal
NateTheHate said the Microsoft show would air on Thursday, April 16, and that Metro 2039 would be the game shown off during it.

NateTheHate says Microsoft is planning an Xbox showcase for Thursday, April 16, and the same event would be used to show Metro 2039. The claim surfaced after Jez Corden said a smaller Xbox presentation was coming next week, and Nate followed up on Twitter with a more specific date.
In the post on April 12, 2026, Nate wrote that “The Microsoft show will broadcast on April 16th & is the venue of choice for the Metro 2039 reveal.” He also said he could not confirm the branding for the Xbox show, and he repeated that he had not been able to verify the previously rumored PlayStation State of Play date.
The Microsoft show will broadcast on April 16th & is the venue of choice for the Metro 2039 reveal. I don't know the branding of the show.
Before anyone asks: No, I have not been able to confirm the previously rumored State of Play date information yet. https://t.co/Uj831hs4b1

Metro 2039 is the rumored name for the fourth mainline entry in the series. Nate’s comments do not confirm the game itself, but they do point to the showcase as the place where a reveal could happen if the event comes together as described.
More on the Metro rumor mill
The new claim lands after a separate leak suggested a canceled version of the next Metro game may have existed at one point. That leak described a build tied to the events of the Metro 2034 book, along with a return for Hunter and a world that would stretch between underground tunnels and the surface.
