As we cozy up for the holiday season, a delightful new gift from Xbox will surely warm your gaming hearts. Imagine being able to play your favorite titles without the hassle of installation. It sounds dreamy, right? Well, let’s explore this exciting update!
Last month, Xbox teased that Game Pass Ultimate members would soon be able to stream select games they own across various devices. And guess what? The time has come! Starting today, Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha rings can get a sneak peek at streaming directly on their Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles.
Stream Your Own Game on Your Xbox Console
For those lucky enough to be both an Xbox Insider and a Game Pass Ultimate member, you can now enjoy streaming select games beyond just what’s available in the Game Pass catalog. This feature is available in all 28 supported countries where Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) operates. You can check out the full list of compatible games here.
So how does it work? With this “Stream your own game” feature, you don’t need to install any titles, simply fire them up through cloud streaming. It’s like having your gaming library right at your fingertips without hogging precious hard drive space. What a relief! Head to My games & apps > Full library > Owned Games to start streaming from your console.
- If you own a cloud playable game, look for the cloud badge next to it.
- You can use filters too! Just choose Filter > Ready to play > Cloud gaming.
- Select the game and hit Play with Cloud Gaming to jump right in.
- A future update will allow direct launching from the Store app and support streaming via the Xbox app on Windows PC.
